Day 3: St. Peter’s to New London (97.83 km)

Today was not a scheduled ride day, but what can you do when you are presented with a beautiful, sunny day?  You go ride, of course!

We set out from Charlottetown early this afternoon to retrace our steps to St. Peter’s.  From there, we rode to the Blooming Point Road and then past Dalvay-by-the-Sea and Brackley.

It was about 18 degrees, so not too hot or cool.  We faced some headwind and crosswind again today, but nothing compared to Sunday’s ride, fortunately.  Oyster Bed Bridge was our next stop prior to riding to North Rustico where we followed the coast through the national park.

We stopped briefly in Cavendish before pushing on to Stanley Bridge and New London, our pre-determined stopping point for today’s cycling adventure.

Thanks to Pierce Butler who was our driver again today.

Stats for the day (thanks again to Jan): Distance: 97.83 km, Time in saddle: 3:38:13, Average Speed: 26.9 km/hr, Maximum speed: 62.01 km/hr, Calories burned: 3090, Ascent: 691 meters, Descent 667 meters.
